Lovin’ the Bling…BDR 2014…

BDR 2014!!!February in the village is a winter wonderland.  The skies are remarkably blue, the temps are mainly balmy and the atmosphere is full of vitality and verve.  What better time than February 1st for Safety Harbor to be the host city for the Best Damn Race.

It’s a race for runners, by runners. It was birthed last year by local company, No Limit Marketing & Advertising, and each year has attracted 4000 plus entrants. It’s also been listed as a “Must Do Race” by Competitor Magazine.

AND, why…you ask??

It’s all about the bling, ya’ll!!!

Best Damn Race t-shirts, finisher medals, health & fitness expo, goodie bags and one huge post race party were some of the perks of this event. Also, being proactive in signing up, allowed racers a lower entry fee and a free race photo…who wouldn’t love that!!!

Having a few distances to choose from like a 5K, 10K, Half-Marathon and a 5K/10K Challenge offered a race for any athletic skill. Elite runners, weekend warriors, first time racers, run/walkers, even peeps with health challenges came out to hit the pavement and run their personal race.

The charity that BDR partnered with was Miles for Hope–which is dedicated to raising awareness, funding of cutting edge brain tumor research and clinical trials and to provide travel assistance to qualified patients.

Pictured here are some members of Safety Harbor Crossfit getting ready to test themselves out on the beautifully scenic pathways of the village.

BTW…if you didn’t participate in this most awesome race, you have another chance. On March 1, 2014, the Best Damn Race is expanding to Orlando, FL. The website is listed below, so why not check it out!!!
