The #PeaceDayProject2015 … Saturday …

Nothing cryptic here 🙂 ….. just kids and canines celebrating peace working up to International Peace Day, the 21st September.

Peace One Day has many goals … ceasefire, non-violence, peace within our homes, schools and communities. They also measure the amount of people coming together in the name of peace. This day is far from symbolism … that’s why measurement of peace on all levels is so important.

Now, it is time to promote peace together by individual action!!!

It’s called the “Thunderclap” and it’s an easy way for individuals to promote Peace One Day. It’s just a little click of a button and Thunderclap does the rest. It amplifies the message of peace and spreads it on social media via Twitter, Facebook or Tumbler. By registering on Thunderclap, you are allowing them to share a message on your behalf in support of Peace One Day. It’s just ONE message … ONE time only, which will be on Peace Day.

Why not put your individuality to work. Speak out for peace within homes, schools and communities. Speak out against child abuse ….. speak out against animal cruelty ….. let your voice be counted!!!

Our pic of the day is from Ed’s Fine Wines in the village. His name is Brunello, and he is promoting a peaceful and cruelty-free society. Thank you to Brunello’s dad, Ed Giancola for letting Brunello be part of our #PeaceDayProject2015.

Always ……… the question is ……… Who will YOu make peace with???

Peace One Day Join the movement! Join the Thunderclap!

Drop Everything and Drop-in…

801 SkateshopHi there to all the villagers, the blogging world and to anyone reading this post. We hope you all are enjoying summertime and all the joys it brings. Maybe you like to hit the beach, the pool or a spend a little idle time in a hammock with a good book … really anything that breathes in the rhythm of this time of year is perfect.

OR …

Maybe, it’s “carving” out some time … doing a 180 … hitting the deck, and ripping into this season with a pace that takes the “chill” element out of the equation.

June 21st is the first day of summer, and it’s also the 10th anniversary of “Go Skateboarding” Day. It’s a day to drop everything and drop in on places like Ian Tilmann Skatepark in the village, and show the world what skateboarding is all about.

This annual holiday was conceived by the International Association of Skateboard Companies (IASC) to promote the sport. And, it began as an excuse for skateboarders to make skateboarding their top priority for that one day.

You can “bank” it that on GSD 2014 this group of athletes will be celebrating the art of skateboarding by blowing off all those obligations and disconnecting from all that social media to honor the IASC’s mission –have fun, go skateboarding.

Haven’t skateboarded before??? Or, maybe you’re just “old school” and need some new equipment???

Well, there’s a place for you. The newly opened 801 Skateshop in the village has everything you need to learn about this sport, and is packed with clothing, sunglasses and other accessories. AND …of course, they are stocked with some high quality skateboards, so why not “airwalk” over and check ’em out. Don’t live in the village??? Well, you can always stalk them on Facebook.

Pictured here is Zak Franklin, owner of 801 Skateshop, with his amazing wall of skateboards.

It’s all about aerials, ollies, grinds, kickflips and spins … it’s all about fun. Show skateboarding some love, y’all!

less than three Week…Saturday…

DSC_5291 Aahhh…Saturday has arrived. It’s really a great feeling waking up on Saturday morning…there’s no rush to get anywhere or do anything…you can just hang out and watch the trees grow…take a morning stroll…sit on the pier and take in the magnificence of Tampa Bay. AND…that’s where we found them…on the pier. Our last day of…the love fest…less than three week. We truly hope that you enjoyed all of our places…LAST BUT NOT LEAST!!!

We less than three The Safety Harbor Fishing Pier in Marina Park…what a spectacular view. It is one of the most relaxing places to be…just sitting there watching the current take away your worries. It’s also a fave place to watch the sunrise…bringing in a new day of possibilities…opportunities…gifts. That’s where we found them…our gifts for this day. They were sitting on a bench watching the water…we needed one more pic. We told them what we were doing and if they wouldn’t mind holding the ❤ prop and being in the pic. They were happy to help us out.

Pictured here are Carol and Ken Merker. They had just sold their house in Spring Hill, Florida and wanted to check out other communities that were inviting to them…maybe reside in. Carol found Safety Harbor on Facebook…and we found them at the pier. They love the village and the villagers seem quite nice. Who knows, maybe you'll see them around town some day…we hope so.

Only one oopsie in this whole week…but…really, it worked out rather perfectly, anyway. Check out our prop…it's backwards…BUT…there’s still a heart…no more words needed…
